Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Phoenix Community Events CIC, a not-for-profit, to promote and facilitate the arts in the Thanet area. Provide for increased arts and other general education; promote and aid the creative skills and cultural welfare of the community; feature lectures, concerts, poetry and literary readings, theatre productions and talent; and enable presentations by operating and sustaining a theatre and other facilities to ensure the continued growth and development of the arts and other community culture within our local area.

Goals of the Phoenix

Provide programming, access, and training to the community, with significant participatory opportunities for students from the local school districts.

Provide musical, cultural, and informational programming that celebrates and expresses the diversity of the community and makes available a voice for groups in the community that may otherwise go unheard.

Sustain a forum for alternative points of view on local, national, and international issues, with awareness of women, students, labour, minorities, and other public interest constituencies.

Make our facilities available to a public of diverse cultures, ages, income levels, and backgrounds.

Strive to promote understanding between cultures and serve as a catalyst for positive social change within the community.
